A New Year means new stories and more controversy and trash talk
Well a Happy New Years to you all, I hope you all have had a wonderful holiday season. A lot has happened over the course of this week like the surprise firing of Denver Broncos Head Coach Bill Shanahan. I was shocked to hear this because he was there for fourteen years. No coach in the league has had a longer tenure with one team. The way I am hearing things right now is the Browns will hire Mangini, the Lions are still up in there air but I hope they get Steve Spaunolo or Brian Billick and the Jets are definitely going after Shanahan. Speaking of the Jets, do the players want Brett Favre out or what? Thomas Jones called him out on the radio the other day and most of the team has resentment towards him right now. Brett Favre should retire once and for all. He did enough to make Green Bay look bad for getting rid of him, no he’s just making himself and Jets look bad in the process. Unless he can learn to change his game at this stage of his career he will only continue to embarrass himself.
How about the Winter Classic at Wrigley Field yesterday. I would love to see something like that come to Michigan. I am not much of a hockey fan but seeing those types of events draws my interest. It was great to see the Red Wings continue their dominance in the league right now. Hockey is starting to grow on me because it is a great sport and you got to be mentally and physcially tough to play it. I honestly think the Red Wings will win the Stanley Cup once again
How about the Big 10. MSU lost the Georgia State and Penn State lost USC yesterday. The Big 10 just can’t win like they use to. They need to start doing a better job of recruiting because if not, no one is going to want to play for them. It’s ridiculious. Heck U of M didn’t even get a bowl game this year. However I will say this U of M, and MSU do have great basketball teams this year and maybe thats where they are putting their focus. I would love to see both teams go far in March Madness. It could happen.
For all you sports fans that like video games, you should go out and get Fight Night Round 3, because it’s freaking awesome. I got that and Madden 09 for Christmas and both are made by EA Sports. They do a great job with their sports games. So if you don’t have either go out and get both of them.
This weekend the NFL Playoffs start so I will have more Sunday Night once the first round has ended. Until then God Bless and be safe.
