Remembering Owen Hart, 10 Years Later

It was on this night 10 years ago that pro wrestling lost one of it’s greatest performers of all time. Owen Hart fell to his death at Over the Edge 10 years ago. Owen was the youngest of the Hart clan and other the Bret, the most gifted. He was one of the best in ring competitors you will ever find. Owen had some classic matches with Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, and his older brother, The Hitman. The year I remember most was 1994 when he fought Bret at Wrestlemania 10, and Summerslam in the Steel Cage. They were two of the best matches I ever saw. I will also never forget the night the extended version of the Hart Foundation formed with Bret, Owen, Davey, Jim and Brian. It was so cool to see the whole family together. Ironically enough, the only to surviving members are the original Hart Foundation, Bret and Jim. Owen had a stellar career and other the not winning the WWE Heavyweight title, he was just as successful as his Bret was. Owen had a nice list of accomplishments that include:

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship
WWE European Championship
WWE Intercontinental Championship (2 times)
WWE Tag Team Championship (4 times) – with Yokozuna (2), The British Bulldog (1), and Jeff Jarrett (1)
King of the Ring (1994)
Slammy Award for Squared Circle Shocker- 1996
Slammy Award for Best Bow Tie- 1997

I’ll never forget the Owen Hart Tribute the following night. It was very emotional and very touching. Ten years later, his death is still felt throughout the wrestling world. Owen I will never forget you, we will never forget you. The King of Harts will live on in our hearts forever
