Kurt Warner Retires
After an illustrious 12 year career Kurt Warner has decided to retire. He had an interesting story on how he made it to the top. He tried a lot in the early 90’s to get on an NFL team but just couldn’t make it. He eventually was signed by the Rams in 1998 but was sent to NFL Europe to play. He finally started in 1999 after Trent Green went down to injury in the preseason. After that the rest is history. He won MVP that year and took the Rams to Super Bowl XXXIV where they defeated the Titans. He then eventually moved on with the Giants and then to the Cardinals. His achievements in the game are great considering he started at a semi late age. Here’s what Kurt Warner did in his 12 years in the NFL.
-3 time NFL MVP (1999, 2001, 2008)
-2 time AP NFL MVP (1999, 2001)
-5 time Pro Bowl selection (1999, 2000, 2001, 2008, 2009)
-3 time First-team All-Pro (1999, 2001)
-Super Bowl MVP (XXXIV)
-Super Bowl champion (XXXIV)
-Walter Payton Man of the Year Award (2008)
-At least 100 TD passes for two different teams (St. Louis Rams, Arizona Cardinals)
-Fastest ever to reach 10,000 yards passing
-Fastest ever to reach 30,000 yards passing
-Most yards passing in a playoff campaign (1,156 in 2008)
So as you can see his stats and accomplishments are very impressive. He has had a very good run as a quarterback and there is no doubt in my mind that he will be in the Hall of Fame someday. Congratulations to Kurt Warner on a wonderful career. You will be missed by all your fans.
