Davenports Mens Lacrosse Starts off Season 5-0
The Davenport Men’s Lacrosse team started their regular season about a week and a half ago and have started the season out 5-0. They haven’t even played a game at home yet. They started in Pontiac Michigan with their first game being against Oakland University. They defeated Oakland 12-2 with 38 shots on goal. Shawn Beer led the way with four goals. Others who scored include Jordy Sayers, Sam Carlson, Grant Hamilton, TJ Roney, Wade, Oliver and Gavin Morris.
Their second game again in Pontiac was against Carthage College. They defeated Carthage College 12-8 with Davenport having 35 shots on goal. Shawn Beer and Wade Oliver both had three goals each. They started off the season 2-0 after going to Pontiac.
This past weekend they traveled Atlanta to take on three teams. Their first opponent was against Savannah Art of College and Design(SCAD). Shawn Beer was impressive again scoring five goals. Cody Cross and Sam Carlson each scored three goals. Davenport had 42 shot on goal in their victory The final scores 16-8 with another Davenport win.
They then took on Emory College and defeated them 10-6. Shawn Beer was a terror again as he scored another five goals. Each team had 31 shots on goal. Another good victory for Davenport
The final game down in Georgia was against Kennesaw State University. They won the game 10-5. Shawn Beer had 3 goals in the game. Chris Cross and Sam Carlson each had 2 goals in the game. Davenport had 28 shots on goal in their victory. They are now 5-0 and now return to Michigan. They are ranked 2nd in the nation in Division 2 Men’s Lacrosse.
