Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith Elected to the Hall of Fame

As a kid growing up I always loved watching Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith play football and now they are in the Hall of Fame. I would like to start off by talking about Jerry Rice. Jerry Rice will always be known as 49er and one of the all time greats at that. He was drafted in 1985 and definitely made a name for himself in the NFL with all of his accomplishments. His accomplishments include:

-Thirteen Time Pro Bowl selection (1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2002)
-Eleven Time First-team All-Pro selection (1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996)
-Second-team All-Pro selection (2002)
-Three time Super Bowl champion (XXIII, XXIV, XXIX)
-NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time Team
-NFL 1980s All-Decade Team
-NFL 1990s All-Decade Team
-1993 NFL Offensive Player of the Year
-1987 NFL Offensive Player of the Year
-1987 Bert Bell Award
-Super Bowl XXIII MVP
-1996 Pro Bowl MVP

Jerry Rice also played for the Raiders, and Seahawks. He tried out for the Denver Broncos in 2005 but miss the cut. Jerry Rice will always be a champion, a great ambassador of the game and a real pro of the game.

Alongside Jerry Rice will be Emmitt Smith who was apart of a great Cowboys dynasty in the early 90’s. He was drafted in 1990 as the 17th overall pick. His records and achievements are endless as well. This is what Emmitt Smith has accomplished:

-Eight time Pro Bowl selection (1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1998, 1999)
-Four time First-Team All-Pro selection (1992, 1993, 1994, 1995)
-Second-Team All-Pro selection (1991)
-NFL 1990s All-Decade Team
Three time Super Bowl Champion (XXVII, XXVIII, XXX)
-1993 NFL MVP
-1990 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year
-Super Bowl XXVIII MVP
-Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor

Both Emmitt and Jerry hold numerous records that may never be broken. Both have been on Dancing with the Stars. Rice finished second the year he was on and Emmitt won the whole thing the following year. Both Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith both deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. Alongside them will be Russ Grimm, Rickey Jackson, Dick LeBeau, Floyd Little, and John Randall. All of these men have had great and successful careers. Congratulations to all of the 2010 Hall of Fame Class.
