Road to Wrestlemania 26- Week 3

The Road to Wrestlemania 26 took some interesting turns this week and it all started with Monday Night Raw. The opening match on Raw was between Randy Orton and Sheamus, a rematch from the Royal Rumble. The same thing happened when Cody Rhodes attacked Sheaumus and got Orton DQ’d. Orton then took out his anger and RKO’d Rhodes and Sheamus. After that Bret Hart addressed the crowd and said he was leaving because things didn’t work out for him like he wanted to. Bret then headed into his limo when a car smashed into his leg thus causing an injury to his leg. No word yet on when Bret will be on WWE TV again. Mark Henry and MVP defeated Big Show and Miz in a tag match which was non title. I am assuming they might get a rematch at the Elimination Chamble PPV tomorrow night. Then  guest host Jerry Springer hosted  a crazy and wild show called “WWE’s Most Intimate Relationships Revealed.” This was funny but also a waste of 20 minutes because it’s not helping the build up of a PPV. Anyways following that Ted DiBiase defeated Kofi Kingston in a very awkward match to give himself momentum headed into Sunday. The Main Event of the evening was John Cena going against Triple H. Before the match Cena had a confrontation with Batistia via satallite where Batista said he’d be on Raw next week. The match ended in a no contest when Sheamus came out and attacked both men. That’s how Raw went off the air.

Then on Tuesday it was the last epidose of ECW. Their were only two matches and both were really good. The first match was between Unified Tag Team Champions The Miz and Big Show taking on Yoshi Tatsu and Goldust. This match was actually surprisingly awesome. Both teams worked well together and put on a good match for then fans in attendance. The Miz and Big Show won and kept their titles. Then the final match ever on ECW pitted ECW Champion Christian against Ezekiel Jackson in an Extreme Rules match for the championship. This was a great way to go out and great way to upstart Jacksons career by having him win the ECW title and being the last ECW Champion in history. I look foward to seeing more of Ezekiel Jackson in the WWE.

Last night on Smackdown the show opened with Chris Jericho and Edge confronting each other again. At the end of the segment Edge speared Jericho. The first match was The Hart Dynasty taking on Matt Hardy, The Great Khali and Maria. The Harts won win Maria got pinned by Natalya. CM Punk and Luke Gallows def. R-Truth and John Morrison in a very competative match that had The Undertakers pyro go off distracting both teams. Cryme Tyme took on the new Smackdown stars Caylen Croft and Trent Barreta and defeated the young duo who just came from ECW. Kane also made short work of Dolph Ziggler as a tune up before his match Sunday. He also avoided an attack from his opponent Drew McIntyre and sent him a messege loud and clear before Sunday. The Main Event of the evening was between Edge and Batista.  This went to a no-contest when The Undertaker appeared and laid out both men. After that Jericho attacked Edge to end the show.

The biggest news this week is that the Money in the Bank Ladder Match will not be apart of Wrestlemania this year. It is being turned into one of WWE’s theme based pay-per-views. I think this a mistake by WWE and I really hope they sign some high quaility matches for Wrestlemania 26. If they don’t sign some really big time matches then this years Wrestlemania will be a failure. Keep checking back for matches, news and more regarding Wrestlemania 26.
