Royal Rumble Results and Recap
So I ended up watching the Royal Rumble late last night because the bar I went to did not show it so I watched it late last night and have to say it was interesting. The opening match was for the ECW Championship between Christian and Ezekiel Jackson. It was actually a really solid match for both of them and Zeek looked pretty good. Up next was the match between The Miz and MVP for the United States Championship. Another solid match the saw the Miz get a quick roll up pin for the victory.
All night long Randy Orton was conflicted because he didn’t know if he could trust Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase. Both Ted and Cody were bad mouthing each other behind each others back. Eventually Orton went to the ring to face Sheamus for the WWE Championship. The match was rock solid and Sheamus really proved he belong with the best. Cody Rhodes eventually interfered in the match costing Orton the match and the title. Then Legacy had a huge meltdown and Sheamus left Orton lying in the ring.
Then there was the Women’s Title match between Michelle McCool and Mickie James. As always these matches were boring and this one really wasn’t any different. Mickie James won and become the new Women’s Champion. Now if you want to talk about a non-boring match look no further then to the World Championship Match between the Undertaker and Rey Mysterio. What a great match between these two. Undertaker won the with a Last Ride by Mysterio proved he is still on top of his game.
The Royal Rumble is finally here. The first two competitors were Dolph Ziggler and Evan Bourne. CM Punk came out number 3 and dominated the first part of the match. CM Punk eventually was stopped Triple H. Shawn Michaels came in at number 18 and eliminated 6 guys including Triple H. However the biggest shocker wasn’t that. Entrant number 29 happen to be Edge who finally returned after any months of recovery after a severe Achilles injury. Edge eliminated Chris Jericho, and John Cena to win the Royal Rumble. Edge now gets to go to Wrestlemania and fight for a title of his choosing. It should be very interesting to see what he does now.
There should be a lot of fallout this week from what happens. How will Triple H and Shawn Michaels get a long after the Rumble? What’s going with Legacy? And what’s going to happen to guys Batista, Rey Mysterio, and others who did not win the Royal Rumble. The Road to Wrestlemania begins and it begins now. Each week I am going to write about The Road to Wrestlemania recapping everything that’s happen in WWE that week until Wrestlemania 26. This is usually the best part of the year for WWE so I am going to do my best have a great coverage for everyone. Stay tuned for more.
