NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup is Set
Last night Tony Stewart won the race at Atlanta Motor Speedway but he didn’t need it as he was already in the Chase for the Sprint Cup which starts this coming weekend at Richmond. Here are the 12 drivers who are moving on:
Kevin Harvick
Jeff Gordon
Tony Stewart
Carl Edwards
Jeff Burton
Jimmie Johnson
Kurt Busch
Matt Kenseth
Denny Hamlin
Greg Biffle
Clint Bowyer
The guy I am surprised that didn’t make the Chase was Jamie McMurray. He had a career year winning two of the biggest races in the sport. I think it’s going to come down to Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart who happen to be really good friends. I just got a feeling that they have the most momentum going into the Chase. Guys are going to be gunning for Jimmie if he even comes close winning a race. The question that I have is would you intentionally wreck Jimmie Johnson so he doesn’t win another series cup? If it were me I would say yes because under the old rules he wouldn’t have won all those championships and I for one am sick of seeing him win. With ten races left, you can bet things are going to be tense among these twelve drivers especially now that the points reset. Here are the final 10 races headed into to the Chase for the Cup.
