Lesnar Loses at UFC 121 and more
If you would have told me that Brock Lesnar would have been beat in the first round last night I would have called you an idiot, but it happened. It really did happen. Cain Velasquez did what he said he was going to do and that’s defeat Lesnar. The next person in line for a title shot is Junior Dos Santos. Like I read on someones Facebook last night, I feel bad for whoever fights Lesnar next because he’s going to be angry. Other results include:
Court McGee defeated Ryan Jensen by submission (arm triangle choke) at 1:21 of round 3.
Tom Lawlor defeated Patrick Côté by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
Brendan Schaub defeated Gabriel Gonzaga by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
Matt Hamill defeated Tito Ortiz by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27).
Diego Sanchez defeated Paulo Thiago by unanimous decision (30-26, 29-28, 29-28)
Jake Shields defeated Martin Kampmann by split decision (28-29, 29-28, 30-27).
Some other big fights coming up include
UFC 123- Light Heavyweight bout: Quinton Jackson vs. Lyoto Machida
Welterweight bout: Matt Hughes vs. B.J. Penn
UFC 124- Welterweight Championship bout: Georges St-Pierre (c) vs. Josh Koscheck
UFC 125- Lightweight Championship bout: Frankie Edgar (c) vs. Gray Maynard
Heavyweight bout: Shane Carwin vs. Roy Nelson
So we have a lot to look forward to the rest of the year. The landscape in UFC is definitely changing especially after last night. Stay tuned for more fights to come.
