Dale Earnhardt Jr. Wins Quicken Loans 400
After four long years and 143 races without a win Dale Earnhardt Jr wins the Quicken Loans 400 at Michigan. Oddly enough it was almost four years to the day at the very same track is where he won his last race. As a Dale Jr fan it has been a roller-coaster ride over the last four years but he’s been so close so many times you knew he had to win again. This year’s Sprint Cup season has been extraordinary for Dale Jr. In 14 races he now has one win along with 6 top 5’s and 12 top 10’s. He is currently second in points and running consistently every weekend their is a race. Dale Jr’s 2012 Sprint Cup season has been the best he has had in a long time. He’s led 218 laps which is almost then the last two years combined.
Dale Earnhardt Jr’s win also marks 6th win for Hendrick Motorsports this season. The other wins came from Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne. Hendrick Motorsports has raked in a lot of cash this season with wins and consistent finishes from all four drivers.
For four years there was many times where he came close and Junior Nation suffered heartbreak. The heartbreak is over and the domination could be starting again. This season Dale Jr has put himself in contention for a win every week. He has completed every lap this season and is the only driver to do so.
