USC Recruits a 13 Year Old Quarterback

I usually don’t get shocked by news on ESPN but when I read this I couldn’t believe it. USC has recruited a David Sills, who is 13 and lives in Delaware as their Quarterback for the future. Isn’t this a little too young? I think so. The kid hasn’t even his puberty and isn’t even in his freshman year of high school. Apparently he is not the first person this age to be recruited this year but I think the NCAA needs to come down on Colleges for recruiting this early. This commitment is going to distract this kid all throughout high school. He’s got so much pressure on him at such a young age, it’s going to be hard for him to focus on what’s really important.

I think the minimum age you should be allowed to recruit someone is 16 because they are in high school, the can think for themselves and they will already have an idea of what they want to do for their future. I don’t doubt that this kid will be a great Quarterback but I think he’s going to be so stressed out by the time he gets to USC, he will let the pressure get to him. This kids is going to have an ego, will be money hungry and will probably get greedy about things in his life. Like I said the NCAA needs to crackdown on how young kids can be recruited to college. Stay tuned for more on this topic and please give me your opinions on the matter.

  1. What the NCAA needs to crack down on is idiots who know nothing about their organization or about sports commenting on their operations…. So HWOO – get a CLUE, and DO what it is YOU DO; go down to K-ZOO, make friends with a JEW, learn a thing or TWO and come back with ideas that are NEW.
