Open Letter to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson

To Quinton “Rampage” Jackson:

After watching your recent explosion on the Ultimate Fighter, it would appear that you made the right decision to quit the UFC all together. However you should have quit after you fought Rashad Evans. Everything Rashad has said about you is true. He said he was going to make you quit your career and sure enough he did. You can make all the excuses you want about making the A-Team movie or saying you quit because of the fans. The fans are the ones who support you and make you money so can have a good life.

I’ve always thought you were somewhat overrated to begin with. People made a big deal about you beating Wanderlei Silva but it wasn’t a big deal because Silva pretty much killed you the first two times you met. Granted you have beaten Chuck Liddell, Keith Jardine, Kevin Randleman, and Dan Henderson. However could beat Rashad Evans, Lyoto Machida, Mauricio Rua, and even Tito Ortiz? Perhaps we will never know because you decided to quit like a little baby.

You talked all this trash about you could knockout Rashad Evans but no you won’t back it up. You’re a coward for running away like a little punk. UFC 106 was suppose to headlined by you and Rashad Evans but now it is headlined by a Lightweight Championship bout between BJ Penn (c) and Diego Sanchez. That’s a good fight but not one that should headline the last fight of the year. It should have been Evans vs. Jackson. I hope someday you wake up and look in the mirror and realize how stupid you really are for quitting. I hope you also realize that you are a coward and everything Rashad said about you and did to you was true. If you are any kind of a fighter you would fight Rashad Evans and prove that you are as good as you say you are. The UFC and MMA does not need you. You’re no big lost. You’ll eventually come to realize that you need the UFC and MMA for you to even be relevant in the world. Good luck Rampage, I hope you know what you’re doing.

On a side note, Rampage Jackson will be sentenced on January 7, 2010 for felony reckless driving, and felony hit and run after striking several vehicles. If he is convicted he could face up to 3 years in prison. Just thought I’d throw that out there. The incident he’s being charged with happened ten days after he lost the Light Heavyweight Championship to Forrest Griffin in 2008. What bothers me about this, is Dana White and the UFC should have gotten rid of him then but they didn’t. They helped him out and gave me another chance to redeem himself. This is how he repays the favor. He walks out on the company and the fans that supported him.
