Yankees, Angels and Dodgers Advance

As I predicted a few weeks ago it did not matter who came out of the AL Central because they would end up being swept by the New York Yankees. Sure enough the Yankees swept the Twin, and did it pretty convincingly. Now I know what Twins fans are going to say. The ground rule double should have not been called a foul ball. Guess what? It was just like Brandon Inge was hit by a pitch and that wasn’t called. The Yankees want to win a World Series in the worst way. Before they can get there they have to face the Angels.

The Angels swept Boston making it look fairly easy. I still can’t believe Johnathan Papelbon blew the third game in the 9th inning. The Angels are a threat and have been threat all year long because they are finally healthy. The pitching, and hitting are both there. A healthy Angels team is a very dangerous team. I think the ALCS will go seven games with all of them being very close. The Angels have an emotional year losing one of their up and coming pitchers Nick Adenhart to an automobile accident. They also had a few injuries that made them have a slow start. The Angels are definitely a team to be reckoned with.

However they are not the only L.A. team to be reckoned with. The Dodgers who had a great year even though they got lazy towards the end of the year. I have to give props to Juan Pierre who filled in for Manny Ramirez during his 50 game suspension. I am glad Juan didn’t get shoved to the side when Manny came back. There a lot of guys on the Dodger team who deserve a World Series. Some of the guys include Jim Thome, Casey Blake, and others who have good careers but never have won a ring. I really enjoy the Dodgers. They are very well rounded team and think they will beat whoever they face in the ALCS in 6 games.

An Angels-Dodgers could be in the making. That would be very interesting. You could see Jared Weaver vs. Jeff Weaver. Then again that’s doubtful because Jeff Weaver is not in the rotation right now. Anyways Los Angeles has been waiting almost 50 years for this series to happen and this year it’s likely that it could happen. Anything is very possible. ALCS starts Friday night while the NLCS starts Thursday Night. I love postseason baseball. It’s the best baseball you see during the year. Stay tuned because the competition is going to get a lot better.

  1. Ummm… There's only one L.A. team to be reconed with: The Dodgers. The Angels are not an L.A. Team. It is an Anaheim Team. If the Angels want to call themselves the California Angels, that's fine. But not Los Angeles Angels.

Just because the Rams played there and called themselves the Los Angeles Rams doesn't make it right.

But no matter what they call themselves, I'd love a Freeway Series!
