The Age of Orton begins again at Backlash
Last night at WWE Backlash three new champions were crowned in what was a very good pay-per-view. The first match saw ECW Champion Jack Swagger defend his title against Christian. It was a very good opening match which saw Christian take home the ECW Championship. Next up you had Ricky “the Dragon” Steamboat take on Chris Jericho. It was a match to see. Steamboat at his age has still got the heart and the skill to perform in the ring. I love how the fans chant “You still got it.” Even the Jericho beat the Hall of Famer, it was an awesome match that many soon won’t forget. Up next was CM Punk taking on Kane. This was a good solid match between both of them, and surprisingly Kane beat Punk. They that I Quit are the two most humiliating words you could say in wrestling. Hardy vs. Hardy has been one of those feuds that you can’t buy into because you realize and understand how close they are. It was a good knock down drag out of a fight which saw Matt begging for his life, but he ended up quitting and Jeff won the match. Next up was the 6-man for the WWE Championship and Orton spent have the match in the back. It was a wild match that saw Orton punt Triple H in the skull and regain the WWE Championship thus the Age of Orton begins again tonight on Raw. No word if Triple H’s injury angle will last long or not. I am glad Orton pinned HHH because that’s the right way to end the match. And then finally, the Last Man Standing to one the greatest feuds in a long time. John Cena and Edge both brought it last night and with an assist from the Big Show, Edge regained his World Heavyweight Championship, making him a nine time World Champion. It was a decent pay-per-view that only had 6 matches so it wasn’t too bad. I think one more match would have been nice instead of Santino Marella, and the Great Khali doing their garbage. Oh well, it’s sports entertainment.
