NFL Week 8 Recap, World Series, Cyber Sunday and more
Well week 8 of the NFL season had some high scoring, and close games. Carolina got away with a win just barely. The Lions lost, and the Titans are still undefeated. Not much has changed and the season is halfway over. I didn’t realize it until this week that the Bengels still haven’t won a game this year. Thats just pathetic again so are the Lions so I can’t talk much. I am 2-6 on my CBS Football Fantasy Team, and I am doing well in the football pool I am in. This week is going to be the worst week of the year….Carolinas by week. So I could careless about football this week. Oh well I guess I still watch.
The Phillies won the World Series last night in a great game. Cole Hamels won the MVP for the Series. I would have never thought that these two teams would have been there and Philly would have won. I am going out on a limb and saying right here, right now that I guarentee you that neither team will be in the playoffs next year. It will be…..the Boston Red Sox against the L.A. Dodgers. My theory will come true next year. They are trying to build up Mannys return to Boston as much as they can so Major League Baseball can make tons of money. You just wait…I hope I am wrong though and I hope the Tigers will be back in the mix of things.
Cyber Sunday was this past Sunday and Batista beat Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Title (with a little help from Stone Cold Steve Austin). It was great to see the Honky Tonk Man as he hasn’t changed a bit. Funny to see him with Piper and Goldust beating up on Santino. The match that stole the show was Matt Hardy defending the ECW title versus Evan Bourne. What a wonderful match. Just awesome. I hope they square off again. The following night on Raw he had another great match with Rey Mysterio. Also Kofi Kingston and CM Punk won the World Tag Titles from Dibiase and Rhodes. Good stuff. Survivor Series is in three weeks and I have a good feeling about the PPV.
So it Isiah Thomas a complete idiot or what? I mean why would you overdose and say it was your damn daughter. No one knows who your daughter is but now everyone does because you can’t fess up to being a stupid idiot. Did working for the Knicks depress you that much. Well I guess now that I mention it, it probably did. Isiah you need help and I mean some major help.
UFC 91 is two weeks away and I can’t wait for Lesnar and Couture to go at it. I am prediciting a Brock Lesnar ass whooping and the old man Randy Couture.
Finally, both the NBA AND NHL seasons have started. Not a big fan of Hockey but I will watch when the Red Wings are playing. However the Pistons are another story. I’ll watch every game I can. Hell, I’ll watch any basketball game period. My favorites other then Pistons this year are the Houston Rockets, and the New Orleans Hornets. I think both teams will do great this year. I am still picking Boston and the Lakers to be back in the finals again this year.
